Reading with Expression

This was hard because when you started reading you got nervous.  When I was reading a question you had to make your voice go high.  I was trying to make my reading smooth but it really wasn't.

I was learning to unknown words and trying to predicate what the word means. This was easy becasue I got help from other people.The dictionary helped me with my learning.I am proud of myself because I got it finished and I had 5 minutes of extra time left.

 I am learning to read onto work out unknown words. I had to I had to find too new words and explain what they mean,  I found this easy because I had somebody to help me with it.  My next step is to work independently.

I have been learning to make simple inferences. I found this easy because I went through the book and figured out the answers.  The words in the book gave me clues.  My next step is to keep reading at home every day.

I have been learning to identify the different features of non-fiction texts.  I found this a little bit tricky sometimes because I wasn't sure what some of them were like the bottom three.  My next step is to keep learning these and trying again until I get it right.

I have been learning to answer questions about the stories I read.  I found this easy because most of it was simple and the answers were in the book.  My next step is to trying harder questions.

IALT find similarities and differences in a text.  We have been reading about Chinese New Year.  We used a veenn diagram to compare Chinese and New Zealand New Year.  I found this hard because there was lots of difficult information.  My next step is to  practice findina similarities and differences.
