My Reflection

 I am learning to read onto work out unknown words. I had to I had to find too new words and explain what they mean,  I found this easy because I had somebody to help me with it.  My next step is to work independently.

Motat Visit

I liked our trip to Motat. It was fun. We got to see some old video games like pac man and donkeykonk and more. Then we went to the old cars. Then we had lunch. Then we went on the tram ride.and the old cars were small and then we went to see the old homes and they was a old school then we went to a room with same old maori and then we went to the lazermaze ti was fun at Motat.

Term 4 week 1

Last week we did athletics First we bib sprints and I got in to the Finals but I lost  next we did  high jump ti got harder and harder next we did long jump I got close to wining  softball throw and I wasn't even close to wining ti was Fun

Term 4 week 1

in the weekend  went to rainbowsend with Kayde and my mum Theresa . First we went on the log flume. Next we went on the gold rush 30 times. Then we had lunch and after that we went in the bumper cars, then the bumper boats.  We got wet and it cooled me down.  My mum and my sister went on the fearfal but I was too scared.  I don't like heights.  After that we went home. That was greatest day of my life.

Term 4 week 1

Yesterday I went to my fins house to watch the rugby world cup 2015. It was 4.30 am the game went for hours but ti was a good game and the all black won the rugby world cup 2015. We played  rugby but my frieunmd Kayde won then we played on his tramp. It was fun. We had face paint to and we left at 3.30.

I have been learning to make simple inferences. I found this easy because I went through the book and figured out the answers.  The words in the book gave me clues.  My next step is to keep reading at home every day.

Explanation Writing

I have been learning about Explanation Writing. I now know that Explanation Writing tells about how something works. I found the quiz tricky because there was lots of questions and frustration. My next step is to write my own Explanation.

I have been learning to make inferences.  I thought I did a good job because I tried figuring out what was right and what was wrong by reading the book.  It helped reading the book more than once.  I read it at school and at home.  My next step is to focus on my work and make sure I read every day at school and at home.

Term 2 Week 7

Te Tuhi Trip

Last Friday I went to Te Tuhi with my classroom.  We went to make vertical gardens for Matariki.  The ladies talked to us about what Matariki is and then we did our art.  First we cut the top off plastic bottles and then we decorated them with stickers.  Then we put a type of plant on them and then we played a game while we waited.  I had fun and I can;t wait to see my plant hanging up.

Learning About Adjectives

I was learning to add adjectives to give my sentences more meaning.

I have to remember to use adjectives that make the picture clear for my reader.

I thought this activity was hard because I had to think really hard to match them.

My best adjective was big because it just sounds good with that one.

My next step is to use adjectives in my own stories to make them interesting.

Rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100

My Reflection

I have been learning to round numbers to the nearest 10 and 100.  I found this easy because I already knew the answers.  My next step is to round bigger numbersx.

Features of Non-fiction texts

My reflection

I have been learning to identify the different features of non-fiction texts.  I found this a little bit tricky sometimes because I wasn't sure what some of them were like the bottom three.  My next step is to keep learning these and trying again until I get it right.

Answering Literal Questions about a Text

I have been learning to answer questions about the stories I read.  I found this easy because most of it was simple and the answers were in the book.  My next step is to trying harder questions.

Counting On

My Reflection

I have been learning to count on from the biggest number.  I found this hard because there were a lot of big number to work out.  My next step is to try harder and learn a new strategy to work out the bigger numbers. 

My Pepeha

This is my pepeha.  We have been learning to introduce ourselves in Māori.  We created art to display it. 

Term 1 Week 8

On the weekend I went to the school gala.  I saw a big slide and lots of shops.  I went to smash the car and went down the big slide.  I hurt my arm when I smashed at the bottom, then I fell off.  My favourite part was the slide.  I had some hot chips.  They were yummy.  

Autumn poem

We were learning to use describing words.  I out together a poem about Autumn.  I tried my best.  I knew a lot about it and we had to figure out the colours of Autumn Leaves.  We had to think about how they moved and what they looked and felt like.

Term 1 Week 5

This week we did the blue whale challenge.  First we drew a whale.  We clicked on a video and it showed us how to draw one step by step.  Next we watched a video about whale and a guy searching for a blue whale.  I learnt that blue whales can hold their breath but they have to come up for air.  I learnt that blue whales are mammals.  I am enjoying this challenge.

Similarities and differences in a text.

IALT find similarities and differences in a text.  We have been reading about Chinese New Year.  We used a veenn diagram to compare Chinese and New Zealand New Year.  I found this hard because there was lots of difficult information.  My next step is to  practice findina similarities and differences.

Term 1 Week 4

Last week we went to do sports with Youthtown.  We did some fun games like capture the flag and my teme lost but it was fun.

Welcome to my Year 4  learning blog. This year l am in Room 28/29 and my teachers are Mrs Graham and Mrs Melville.  I enjoy playing rugby.  This year I am looking forward to the sleepover.  I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
